Starmingo ("we", "our", "us") helps you connect financial accounts, view balances, and understand your financial activity. Privacy and security are core to how we build the product. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the limited situations where trusted providers like Plaid help us deliver the service.

Account data from Plaid: connected institution names, account names/types/masks, balances, transactions, recurring transactions, identity information, and related metadata needed to provide app features.
Profile & app data: basic account/profile details, preferences, budgeting inputs, and app configuration needed to run the product.
Technical data: logs and diagnostics such as timestamps, request metadata, and error events for security and reliability.
AI chat conversations: when you use Mingo, our AI assistant, the messages you send and the responses you receive are stored securely. Any feedback you leave on a response (such as thumbs up/down) is also recorded.
Financial data is processed automatically to power features like dashboards, alerts, timelines, and insights. Starmingo team members do not manually browse or monitor your personal financial transactions.
2. How We Use Information
Provide requested features such as account views, spending analytics, budgeting, and alerts.
Maintain and improve product performance, quality, and fraud/security protections.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and platform safety requirements.
We use your data to operate and improve Starmingo, not to sell it, rent it, or use it for third-party advertising.
We do not sell personal information.
3. AI Assistant (Mingo)
Starmingo includes an AI-powered financial assistant called Mingo. To provide and improve this experience, conversations with Mingo may be stored securely.
What this means for you: Mingo conversations may be stored securely to provide the AI assistant experience, improve response quality, troubleshoot issues, and support safety. We do not use Mingo conversations to monitor your personal finances, sell your data, or share your conversations with third parties for marketing.
In limited cases, authorized team members may review Mingo conversations only for troubleshooting, safety, or product quality purposes.
Feedback you leave on a Mingo response (for example, marking a reply as unhelpful) is stored alongside the conversation and used to prioritize which interactions are reviewed first.
Mingo conversations are not sold, are not used for third-party advertising, and are not used to manually monitor users' financial behavior.
You can delete a conversation at any time from within the Mingo chat interface. Deleted conversations are removed from our systems and will no longer be accessible for review.
4. Plaid-Specific Disclosure
We use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to connect your financial accounts. By using bank connection features, you acknowledge that your information is processed by Plaid in accordance with Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

You can disconnect linked institutions in the app. Disconnecting stops new sync activity for that connection in Starmingo.
5. Credit Monitoring Disclosure
Starmingo may provide credit monitoring features through trusted partners such as Revery Credit.
What this means for you:
- Viewing your credit information through Starmingo does not impact your credit score (soft inquiry only).
- We do not perform hard credit checks.
- Credit data is provided securely through our partner and used only to display your credit profile and insights.
- We do not sell or share your credit data for marketing or advertising purposes.
Your credit information is handled with the same privacy-first approach as the rest of your financial data.
Starmingo does not make lending decisions and does not use your credit data to approve or deny services.
7. Retention & Deletion
We retain data only as long as needed for product operation, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and security.
You can remove a linked bank connection from the app. You may also request account/data deletion by contacting us.
8. Security
Sensitive financial connection data is protected using administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards.
Plaid access tokens are stored encrypted at rest and are used only to retrieve data you request (for example, balances and transactions).
We do not store your online banking username or password.
Connected accounts can be disconnected anytime from the app.
9. Your Choices & Rights
Review and update profile information in the app where available.
You can disconnect linked banks from the Banks & Cards experience at any time.
Disconnecting an account stops new sync activity for that connection.
You may request account or data deletion by contacting Starmingo.

10. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18.
